Around the League: Newstead B whitewashed again

Newstead B’s horrendous season has continued after they were whitewashed for the second week in a row after losing 9-0 at home to in form Queen of Martyrs.

Bootle pub Gateway and Anfield pub Claremont both got big wins away from home to carry on leading the way at the top of the Liverpool Open Darts League as they beat Huyton pub Oak Tree and Stockbridge Village pub Village Inn respectively.

O.D.V.A. also picked up a big win as they won the basement battle 5-4 against the Glasshouse at home.

Newstead A also kept up pressure on the chasing pack with a 5-4 win at Melbourne, who of course now play at Masons following the closure of their pub.

Out of the teams who are battling for position, there was close wins for two of the teams aiming higher: Masons and Liver Vaults.

Masons, who have had a relatively disappointing season, won 5-4 at home to Arkles, while Liver Vaults overcame Ship and Mitre A on Dale Street- and it turned out A had the same problem B had against Queen of Martyrs.
