B Back in League action against Queen of Martyrs

Peter MylchreestShip and Mitre B return to league action tomorrow night when they welcome Queen of Martyrs to Dale Street.

They will be hoping to carry on their impressive form since the turn of the year: four wins and three defeats.

Mitre are coming into the game hoping to bounce bac from their 8-1 thrashing at home to Claremont a fortnight ago.

Last week Peter Mylchreest came up against two players from this weeks opponents: Mick Doonan and Richie Waterhouse.

In the game against Doonan, despite missing numerous darts at his starting double, was able to beat the Queen of Martyrs secretary 2-0. Doonan missed several darts at finishing double in both legs.

In the second game against Waterhouse which was the final, the first leg could have gone either way, but then n the second, Waterhouse was able to pull away to win.

The Croxteth pub come into this game off the back of a double defeat against Gateway a fortnight ago. It was a double due to their game in September being postponed.

In the league, they have had a mixed season with 12 wins and 11 defeats. However, in the Presidents Cup, they caused a major shock in the semi finals as they beat Gateway to make the final alongside Newstead A.

A win for Ship and Mitre B could lift them as high as 11th in the Liverpool Open Darts League table, depending on how other results go, a defeat wouldn’t really change their position but could find themselves cast adrift at third bottom.

A win for Queen of Martyrs could see them rise as high as 6th, and among those teams plying for territory now, the higher they can get up the table, the better.

As always we will be covering the match on Twitter. You can follow us @ShipMitreB.
