Around the League: 9/1/17

Claremont kept their four point lead at the top of the Liverpool Open Darts League with a 6-3 win in Huyton against the Oak Tree- their 14th consecutive victory and it came against the last and only team to beat them this season.

Defending champions Gateway emphatically kept up the pressure on the Anfield pub with an 8-1 victory over local rivals O.D.V.A. They haven’t lost since Claremont beat them 7-2 in September.

Newstead A also kept close to the chasing pack after an emphatic 9-0 victory over Ship and Mitre A- the second time Mitre have been nilled in three fixtures after they lost by the same scoreline to Oak Tree.

But Peg Legs have lost ground on the chasing pack after a heavy 7-2 defeat at home to Queen of Martyrs. That was their first defeat since an 8-1 defeat at home to Gateway in September.

Early pace setters Liver Vaults picked up a much-needed victory to throw themselves back into the mix having come through a tie breaker at Masons- their first victory in six games.

Arkles remain just behind the Kensington pub and the Oak Tree following a 7-2 victory at the league’s bottom club Newstead B, who are still without a win all season so far.

At the other end of the table, the Glasshouse picked up a much needed victory as they won 6-3 at Melbourne, who are of course playing out of Masons these days following the Melbourne’s closure.
