Ship and Mitre B prepare for Peg Legs cup tie

Ship and Mitre B are back in action this week as they welcome Peg Legs in the Tony Donaghue Memorial Cup.

This is a trophy for the teams who were knocked out in the first round of the Presidents Trophy.

Mitre lost against O.D.V.A away from home while Peg Legs lost against Gateway also away from home.

Peg Legs are currently third in the Liverpool Open Darts League and on a run of six straight victories in the league.

Mitre on the other hand, have been on a barren run and have not won in the league since August, however they have had brief lights in the Five a Side Cup and also in the pairs tournament.

The two teams met at the Ship and Mitre on October 3 and the team from Brunswick won 7-2 on that occasion- Mitre will be looking for an improvement on this game.

Skipper Peter Mylchreest said in his column this week that he didn’t think Mitre’s Cup form so far this season will be bearing on the result here.

It will obviously be a big test for Mitre in facing on of the form teams in the league at the moment but a winner takes all scenario could suit the underdogs here.

The match will start at 9pm at the Ship and Mitre tomorrow night
