Captain’s Corner: “It’s just a pity the rest of us couldn’t just pull something out the hat.”

It was a difficult game but I thought the team were fantastic overall. With a little luck we might have gotten a bit closer to them but we were always at a disadvantage with only seven players.

It was encouraging game with few high quality encounters, Chris’s game was fantastic against a quality player. His form has been getting better each week and I was really pleased to see him record a 12 dart game.

Paying the price

It’s just a pity the rest of us couldn’t just pull something out the hat as well, although we would also have needed a 12 dart game to win. We have to just keep throwing our best.

The pair’s tournament are next week and I’m looking forward to it. We only have the one entry in the pairs this year and we have been fortunate to be drawn at home in the first round. The added spice is our opponents are from our own “A” team. It should be interesting.

Break away might be helpful

Sometimes having a break can help but on occasion it can also put you back a bit. I suppose it all depends on how much practice goes on in the interim. We are at the turn around now and we need to take heart from the results we had at the beginning of the season.
