Masons Review

It was my first away game with Ship and Mitre “B” this week and it was at Masons in Old Swan.

It is a charming little pub just of Queens Drive, the main ring road in the city.

It was Halloween night, so the pub was all decorated for the occasion, with cobwebs covering all the taps (fake ones of course).

The dartboard is in a corner by the toilets, so it is unavoidable for some patrons!

Overall, the pub had a very warm and welcome atmosphere, with the Monday Night Football game between Stoke City and Swansea on three TVs across the pub.

The team themselves were very warm and welcoming and I cannot thank them enough for not treating me like an outsider, even though I was writing for the opposition.

The local darts scene is very much a friendly one with all players exchanging pleasantries until it is their turn on the oche and it is really refreshing to see.

I will very much look forward to my next trip which will be next Monday for the five-a-side game. Ship and Mitre’s chance to gain revenge for their defeat last night.
